Early on I pasted a group link into it by accident, and the bot joined that group without a word and started answering there. Nothing asked, nothing warned, no way back from the console. So now it reads the link before doing anything. Paste a group link into a control that says channel, and it stops and names the group you were about to walk into. Confirm if that is really what you meant, or cancel. The distinction is not cosmetic. In SimpleX a channel and a group are different constructs — different link format, different delivery, different roles. A bot joining a group captures and answers there; joining a channel means listening to one. Which turned out to matter more than expected. Testing this, the app itself handed out a group link for a channel — same channel, wrong link, repeatedly, until it was restarted. Nobody would have caught that by reading the string. The refusal did. The lesson generalises past this one control: if a field claims to accept one kind of thing, it should refuse the other loudly rather than quietly doing something reasonable-looking with it.
